Michael Cody, President, email Mike

Mike founded Clean Sweep in August 1996.  The company has evolved from a home-based office to a full service restoration company that can service the needs of its clients, on a local, regional and national level. Mike’s credentials include being a Certified Microbial Remediation Supervisor, a Certified Building Science Thermographer, a graduate of the Chuck Dewald Vortex Drying System School, Certification in Water Damage Restoration from IICRC and certified in Successful Subrogation Training for Contractors and is a licensed home improvement contractor in Connecticut.  He is also past President of the Disaster Kleenup International Northeast Chapter, and a member of the following organizations:  Restoration Industry Association (committee member creating the American National Standard for Fire Repair), New England Claim Executives Association, Honorable Order of the Blue Goose International, The Cheshire Chamber of Commerce (active Board Member and Co-Chair  for the Membership and Golf Committee), The Greater Meriden Chamber of Commerce (active Board Member, Ambassador and Golf Committee member) and the Southington Chamber of Commerce.


Gloria Cody, Accounting, email Gloria
Gloria Cody, Mike Cody's wife, has been with Clean Sweep since its inception and has the primary responsibility of managing the accounting department.  Prior to that, she worked for over 15 years at The Hartford Insurance Group in the Accounting Department, serving as an Assistant Director. 

 

Jeff Cody, Production Manager, Construction Services, email Jeff
Jeff Cody, Mike’s brother, joined Clean Sweep in 1997 after having his own construction business as Cody Construction.  Jeff is a Certified Green Risk Professional. He is currently production manager of construction services for our repair department.  His responsibilities include customer contact and maintaining communication between the customer, our staff, subcontractors and the insurance companies.  He is a graduate of the Chuck Dewald Vortex Drying System School, and holds a Certification in Water Damage Restoration from IICRC.

 

Mark Horvath, Vice President, Operations, email Mark
Mark joined Clean Sweep in 2009.  He is responsible for running the day to day operations of the company with an emphasis on technology and the real time communications that support Clean Sweep’s 24/7/365 business infrastructure. Prior to working for Clean Sweep, he owned and operated his own construction company in Connecticut.  He earned his MBA from Southern Connecticut State University.

 

Richard Breski, Estimator, Repair Department, email Rich
Rich joined Clean Sweep in 2004 and has the primary responsibility of handling structural estimates of all sizes for residential and commercial losses.  Rich has over 20 years experience as a builder and estimator and also spent six years as an insurance adjuster handling first and third party losses including fires, water, mold, liability, RV and boat losses and also acted as an assistant subrogation specialist.  Rich has completed CPCU classes, is Techcore certified as a field and inside adjuster and is a licensed property/casualty adjuster.

 

Christopher Hindinger, Estimator, Mitigation Department, Water Mitigation Trainer, email Christopher
Chris joined Clean Sweep in 2006 and has responsibility for preparing estimates involving all emergency services and mold work performed by our staff for residential and commercial losses.  Chris is a graduate of the Chuck Dewald Vortex Drying System School, is certified in IOT Mold Remediation, and is trained by Enservio as an inventory specialist for damaged contents.  Chris has also provided water mitigation training to our staff and to insurance company claims staffs.

 

Nile Scala, Estimator, Mitigation and Repair Departments, email Nile
Nile joined Clean Sweep in 2005.  He is responsible for quality control of work performed by our staff for both homeowners and commercial losses.  Since joining Clean Sweep, his experience includes acting as a water, mold and crew supervisor and an estimator.  He has also provided staff training in paperwork, safety, equipment, management and supervising.  Nile’s credentials include being a Certified Mold Remediation Technician, a graduate of the Chuck Dewald Vortex Drying System School, and Certification in Water Damage Restoration from IICRC.

 

Nick Merola, Director of Emergency Services, email Nick
Nick joined 1-800-BoardUp, a division of Clean Sweep, in 2009 and is the Director of Emergency Services.  Nick was in the fire service for 38 years, the last 7 years serving as Fire Chief and Fire Marshall.  As Chief, he managed a 120 person department and was responsible for assembling annual budgets and other administrative duties.  As Fire Marshall, he investigated fires and reviewed for code compliance and license inspections.

 

Brian Griffin, Estimator, Mitigation and Repair Departments, email Brian
Brian joined Clean Sweep in 2006 as a technician in our water mitigation/emergency service department.  He was involved at that time in both residential and commercial losses, as well as becoming certified in IICRC water mitigation and IOT mold remediation programs. In 2008, Brian became an estimator with Clean Sweep and writes estimates for both emergency services and repairs.

 

Peter Latella, Production Manager, Emergency Services, email Peter
Pete originally joined Clean Sweep in 1998 and his primary responsibility at that time was project manager for the emergency services department.  Pete rejoined Clean Sweep in 2008 and was hired as the production manager for all emergency services.  His responsibilities include customer contact and maintaining communication between the customer, our staff, and the insurance companies. He also organizes all jobs received for emergency services including water, fire and mold and maintains the organization of all equipment and the warehouse facility.

 

Laura D’Avanzo, Office Manager, email Laura
Laura joined Clean Sweep in 2006.  Her responsibilities as Office Manager include human resources, accounts receivables and payables, and also provides customer service for all accounting issues.  Laura spent 17 years as an Office Manager for a dental practice and during that time became certified in HIPAA and OSHA and also holds a certificate for Environmental Safety.

 

Lori D’Anna, Production Assistant, Repair Department, email Lori
Lori joined Clean Sweep in 2008.  Her responsibilities include customer assistance for scheduling and job status, communication with production and project managers in the repair department and communication with subcontractors.  She is also responsible for updating of electronic files to keep information flowing to insurance companies.

 

Erik Anderson, Production Manager, Repair Department, email Erik
Erik joined Clean Sweep in 2008 and has more than 12 years of building experience, including residential and commercial projects such as remodeling of multimillion dollar high rise condominiums.  He is responsible for managing multiple projects as well as scheduling, negotiating, customer satisfaction and overseeing Clean Sweep repair staff and multiple subcontractors.  In addition, he manages all repair work and ensures project goals and deadlines are met.

 

Mike Hamill, Business Development, email Mike

Mike joined Clean Sweep in 2008.  He is responsible for both direct sales of jobs in the field and new business development.  He is actively involved in various insurance related organizations such as Professional Insurance Agents, Independent Insurance Agents and the Honorable Order of the Blue Goose International.  Previously Mike worked for a service provider to the insurance industry in the dry cleaning industry.
